The study comparing the types of loose setons for complex anal fistulae published by Colorectal Disease demonstrates the safety and feasibility of the Comfort Drain and confirms improved quality of life as well as greater perianal comfort compared with patients having a conventional knotted seton.
The clinical study titled: “The type of loose seton for complex anal fistula is essential to improve perianal comfort and quality of life” by I. Kristo and co-authors points out that Comfort Drain presented no complications in comparison to a conventional device which caused bleeding and resulted in surgery.
Charles Reynolds, Company Founder and Managing Director of CJ Medical commented:
“We are delighted with the development of the Comfort Drain and are supportive of clinical studies to evaluate the safety and efficacy of technologies.
